BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF SENSE INCORPORATED AND S.I.SOLUTIONS, LLC

Since the initiation of the Tribal Self-Governance movement in the late 1980’s, SENSE Incorporated, a minority-owned small business, has worked for nearly four decades to coordinate, advance, and include the Self-Governance tenets in all Tribal, Federal, and Congressional agendas and discussions in Washington, DC. SENSE has been on the front lines beginning with the Self-Governance Demonstration Project through ultimate passage of amended legislation to reaffirm Tribal Self-Governance under the Indian Self-Determination and Education Assistance Act in both the Department of the Interior and Department of Health and Human Services. Most recently, SENSE provided technical expertise to the Department of Transportation’s Tribal Self-Governance Program Negotiated Rulemaking Committee during the promulgation of regulations.

SENSE has extensive experience working with Self-Governance Tribes in the planning, negotiations, and implementation of the Self-Governance authority to transfer the delivery of programs, services, functions, and activities to local Tribal governments. SENSE professional staff has been actively involved throughout the Self-Governance journey as an advocate to educate Congress and the Administration about the importance of the dynamics that have emerged under self-Governance to improve the relationship between Tribal governments and the United States. SENSE remains committed to working with our Tribal clients to advance and expand Self-Governance throughout the Federal government.
